Easter, April 12, 2020

The staff of Bell Ridge is praying that each and every one of our Church family will experience God this Easter weekend.  We will be sharing communion again this Sunday in our drive thru setting starting at 9:30 AM.  If you wish to have communion but can not make it to the Church we would be glad to bring some to your home.  Just call the Church and let us know of your need.  Remember God loves you and He is in control.

Blood Drive Canteen

Kim Setzer just received a phone call from the Red Cross regarding canteen items.  She was told that she could only provide prepackaged items during the blood drive.  Kim does appreciate everyone’s offer to help but now she can’t use those food items.  She must purchase the loaves of bread and cookies.

If you have any questions, please contact Kim Setzer.

Eunice and Ladies Aid

The Eunice group and the Ladies Aid group will not be meeting in April.  Stay safe and stay strong!

Canteen Update

Thank you to everyone that offered to assist with the blood drive canteen.  We now have everything that we need.

Red Cross Blood Drive Canteen

Bell Ridge will be hosting the canteen for the Red Cross Blood Drive on Monday, April 27th at the KC Hall in Paris.  Kim Setzer is in need of five or more dozen cookies, three loaves of wheat bread and two loaves of white bread.  Please contact Kim if you want to share and she will pick them up on the 26th of April.

Drive Thru Communion Service

We will be having a drive thru communion service again this Sunday, April 5th from 9:30 – 10:30 AM.  We also have secured some prepackaged communion if you want to send just one person to pick it up and take it home to worship with your family.  Remember our sermons are on the website and that your mission offerings can be mailed to the Church or given online.

I Miss Our Fellowship!

Dear Brothers and Sisters In Christ,

There is a YouTube video of the Paris Tiger Mascot walking through the High School building with the music of the Three Dog Night song, “One Is the Loneliest Number” and the Gilbert O’Sullivan song, “Alone Again (Naturally)” playing in the background. I know how he feels; it has been really quiet here at Bell Ridge! I miss our fellowship! It is my hope that each and every one of you are doing well.

I do believe that we need keep our eyes open so that we might see people that have needs and be ready to help them. In that light, remember we have a benevolence fund that we can access to help others. So check on your neighbors, members of your Sunday School class, and people that you have seen here at Church. Please let them know that you are thinking of them. My guess is that the biggest need just might be fellowship and they would welcome a phone call.

An area that I am concerned about in the absence of our weekly gathering is our mission’s program. Our missions are going through this virus pandemic just like us and they need our support. You can write them a note of encouragement to let them know that they are not forgotten. We need to remember our Faith Promise Commitments as well so that we can send them the monthly support that we promised. This may be a test of faith for some of you because I know that you have been laid off. But I believe that God will provide if we honor our promise. Your gifts can be mailed to the Church or you can give on-line if you choose.

We will continue our outreach efforts through our Facebook page and the blog on our website. The Elders are sharing ideas with each other about ways to minister and they would welcome any suggestions or ideas that you have for us to consider. Pray for protection from this virus and any harm Satan is trying to inflict on God’s people. God bless all of you!
Call if you need anything. We are maintaining regular office hours the best that we can.

Yours in Christian Love,

Kurt Speece

“Drive Thru” Communion Service-Rescheduled

We are going to try again this Sunday (March 29) to do a Drive Thru Communion Service here at the Church from 9:30 – 10:30 AM.  Remember if you have been feeling ill please stay away; God understands and so do we.  If you have concerns about your health and safety please do not come.  We, the Elders just want to provide you an opportunity to connect with God.

“Drive Thru” Communion Service – Cancelled

We are cancelling the planned “drive-thru” communion service in light of the Governor’s request that we stay at home.  We pray that you will take some time to worship God at your home this Sunday.  Please spread the word to everyone that this has been cancelled.  Don and I are putting our sermons on the website if you want to listen.

March 20, 2020 at 7:30 p.m.

Well I hope that everyone is doing alright in these different times.  Just remember that change happens every day and we have always just rolled with the changes.  I know that change is not always something that we want or like, but know that God is still the same and He is still in control.  With that knowledge, the Elders want to help you stay connected to Him.  So we are going to have a “drive thru” Communion Service this Sunday, March 22 from 9:30-10:30 AM.  An Elder will greet each family, pray with them, and serve them Communion in their vehicle.  We ask that if you have been ill that you not come or if you have any concerns for your own health do not come.  We are praying that this service will keep you connected to God and to Bell Ridge.

Remember that our sermons will be on our website each week.

Cancelled Services

There has been a confirmed case of the COVID-19 virus in our area.  The Health Department has asked us to not have church services or programs this week.  The elders have agreed to this request.  Please stayed tuned for further updates.
