Missions

“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.  Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people……….”     Galatians 6:9-10

Food for Kids – A Backpack Program

This group of volunteers works to provide food for school age children so that they may have some food each weekend of the school year. This ministry is supported by the Paris community hoping to make a difference in the life of a young person.

Oblong Christian Children’s Home

When life gets hard for young people because their parents are not able to properly care for them for all kind of reasons, they need a place to go to receive the security they need. The Children’s home in Oblong, IL provides them a safe home where loving Christian parents provide for them all the needs that young people need to grow up and realize their potential. We have supported Oblong for a number of years because of their Christian values that they provide to those in need.

Sunday Ude Obeten

Sunday is working hard in Nigeria because he has discovered that the virus has opened several doors for the Church to minister people that are looking for hope in this pandemic. He struggles with time management striving to divide his time between administration of the benevolent work, training new ministers to preach and teach in the churches, and teaching and preaching in his local church. Please keep him in your prayers.

Todd and Tonja Hancock

Todd and Tonja are working in the Mexico City area establishing Christian Churches. They are presently working with a group of believers virtually known as Mosaico Christian Community in Cholula, Puebla. They have had churches and individuals that have stopped supporting them during the pandemic so they are working to rebuild that financial base which will allow them to return to Mexico.

Choices, Pregnancy & Health

Our local center is on the corner of Wood and High Streets in Paris and is dedicated to helping men and women that find themselves facing the decisions of unplanned pregnancy. They minister to those that come to them by striving to teach them about God’s plan for them and their child. The ministry does not end with the birth of the child but families can have support with parenting classes and the opportunity for clothing and supplies to help them as they raise their child.

People that need help with their clothing needs can come to The Closet on Tuesdays to pick out clothes that they need for their family. They also provide blankets in the fall to help people prepare the winter months. They are located on Central Ave. across the street west of the Prospect Bank’s parking lot.

Lifeline-Connect

One of the tools that the devil uses to destroy lives is addiction. It may be drugs and alcohol, gambling, or other evils but whatever it is people need some place to go for help with their addiction. Life-Line helps men with drug and alcohol addiction. It is a resident program that introduces men to the healing power of Christ and His Word. They use several programs to prepare men to overcome and return to a productive life.

Ryan Franklin

Ryan recruits people to go to the mission field. Usually he is working with college students but the virus closed many college campuses this past year making his job a little different. Still he had a successful year recruiting 41 new missionaries in 2020. He works with them to raise their support, to take a short term trip to the field to reaffirm their decision to go and where to go, and helps them make all the travel arrangements that they need to make. So despite the obstacles caused by Covid, God continues to use Ryan to further carry out the “Great Commission”.

Missionary Assist Panama

This has been a challenging year for David and Yvonne Oldenburg in Panama. They have not only dealt with the virus but they have endured two hurricanes. The amount of rain wiped out villages including people’s homes and church buildings. Their work now includes trying to organize food deliveries to the mountain villages to help the people recover. David has been helping people rebuild their homes and church buildings, plus he is installing solar panels to provide them with power.
