Gratitude and Appreciation

Thank you to everyone that contributed to another successful year of participating in Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child.  Bell Ridge filled 220 shoeboxes so children around the world can celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. This might be the first opportunity that many of these children will hear about Jesus and find out that they are loved by God. Pray that God will take our gifts and touch a soul with His love.

Thank you to the Adult Sunday School classes for donating suggested items for each one of the boxes and shipping costs, and others who donated as well to “stuff those boxes full.” Thank you to the high school, junior high and BASK youth for putting the boxes together and making artwork for the tops. Thank you to Betty Jane’s Kitchen for the breakfast sweets, others that brought treats to share and the Jr High youth for serving.

Thank you to the large group of people who came on Saturday to organize tables. A special thanks to Brenda Bright and the Bridwell family for all their donations and support. And to the many new faces this year, helping and boxing! BRCC – you are awesome!!

Worship Emphasis

Worship Emphasis Request

We are inviting our congregation to contribute to our Worship Emphasis column. Would you consider participating by sharing your favorite scripture(s) along with a brief explanation why?  Steve Brinkerhoff and Kurt will be answering any questions and accepting your submissions.

Are You Stumbling in the Darkness?

“The one who is the true light arrived to shine on everyone coming into the world.” (John 1:9)

Light is used in the Bible as a symbol of life, knowledge and goodness. Jesus echoes this in John 14:6 by claiming to be the “the way, the truth and the life.” (exclusively) He is the one and only, the sole and true way. And Jesus, this light, is given to everyone: to the entire world!! The children’s song, “This Little Light of Mine” is a simple form of worship. It serves as a prayer of thanks and also an expression of commitment.
